I am currently accepting in person electric bass students in the greater Oakland, CA area (within 10 miles). Age 12 and up, all levels. 

My teaching philosophy is to help students develop a love for playing music and give them the ability to express themselves through their instrument. I encourage my students to explore all kinds of music and become complete, well-rounded musicians. Along with teaching the fundamentals, my goal is to get students playing the music they love as soon as possible. 

I tailor my lessons to your individual goals, whatever your experience level. Whether you want to play along with songs, jam with friends, or become a professional musician, I will help get you there.

I have a degree in the Bass Instructional Program from the Grove School of Music in Los Angeles, and have over 25 years of performing, recording, and teaching experience. I have played with a wide variety of acts including The Temptations, The Coasters, and The Shirelles, and Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey Circus. I have toured Taiwan with the Chicago Pops Orchestra, and played in the orchestra pit for numerous regional and Broadway theatre productions, including TheatreWorks, San Jose Center for the Performing Arts, and Woodminster Amphitheatre. 

Rate: $60/hr for lessons in your home.
